- At what age can cosmetic surgery be performed?
It depends on the type of surgery: otoplasty (surgery to correct protruding ears) can be performed from the age of 7. For breast and nose surgery, it is preferable to wait until growth is complete (we recommend after the age of 16).
- What are the most frequently performed surgeries?
Nowadays, we perform all kinds of procedures. We could highlight the most common ones, such as breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, and facial rejuvenation surgery.
- Can several surgeries be performed at the same time?
Yes. The types of surgery to be performed and the surgical time will always be assessed. During the preoperative period, we will assess the patient's state of health to ensure that there are no contraindications for surgery.
- What would be the procedure for removing the cartridge holders?
In principle, it would be liposuction of the area, but liposculpture, body contouring or lipofilling (fat removal for repositioning) may also be performed.
- What type of anaesthesia is used in cosmetic surgery?
We use several types of anaesthesia: general, epidural, local, and local with sedation. Each one is selected depending on the type of surgery being performed, the duration of the surgery, and the characteristics of each patient.
- How long after pregnancy can surgery be performed?
In breast surgery, it will depend on breastfeeding, but it is generally preferable to wait between 9 and 12 months.
- How is nose surgery planned?
Before any surgery, it is mandatory to submit a complete pre-operative report, which consists of blood tests, a chest X-ray, and an electrocardiogram. In the case of rhinoplasty (as with other surgeries), the patient undergoes a DICOM 3 CT scan so that the surgery can be planned using Alma3D software. This allows the surgeon to accurately calculate and measure the area to be treated. It is important to analyse facial features in order to achieve a natural-looking nose that is in harmony with the face.
- What cosmetic surgery procedures can a man have? Which ones are most common?
The most common surgeries performed on men are: blepharoplasty (eyelid or bag surgery), liposuction, and gynaecomastia (removal of the mammary gland).
- Does cosmetic surgery enable weight loss?
In principle, liposuction will result in weight loss, as it involves removing localised fat, but if you want to lose weight, it is important to seek the advice of a nutrition specialist.
- What are the most suitable nutritional programmes?
An individual nutritional assessment must be carried out beforehand to determine the patient's needs and design the most suitable nutritional programme for each case: nutritional re-education, high-protein diets, balanced diets with meal replacements, intolerance tests, etc.
